FAQs

We Have Answers, For Your Questions!

  • There are many factors that go into determining what size heating or cooling system you need for your home. The square footage, type of walls, insulation, and more can affect your heating and cooling needs. When you call Yeager’s Heating, we’ll inspect your home and give you expert advice on the best options to efficiently heat and cool your home.

  • As a general rule, filters should be changed monthly or every other month during high usage times like winter and summer. Frequency of filter replacement also depends on how much dust, dirt, and pet dander are present in and around your home. Take a look at your filter and if it looks dirty, it should be changed.

  • If you’ve been experiencing a lot of breakdowns, it may be time to think about replacing your heating or cooling system. As systems age, they become less efficient, and can end up costing you more on heating and cooling bills as well. A newer, more energy efficient system may save you money over time. If your system is over 15 years old, it may benefit you to install a new one.

  • Your heating and cooling systems should be serviced annually to ensure that all the components are in good working order. Regular maintenance of your system helps to prevent inconvenient breakdowns and repairs, and catches any potential problems early.

  • Probably the most important thing you can do to keep your system running efficiently is to have it serviced regularly and replace your filters monthly, or as soon as they look dirty or discolored. Always try to keep your home well insulated, sealing any leaks or cracks to prevent heat loss.

  • The US Department of Energy recommends setting your thermostat at 68 degrees in the winter and 75 degrees in the summer. This could save up to 15% on your energy bills.

  • The indoor air quality in many peoples’ homes is far worse than it is outdoors. Dust, pollutants, dander, and allergens can be circulating in your home, affecting your family’s health. We can install special UV lights and filters to ensure that the air in your home stays healthier and cleaner all year round.
